What a copper peptide is
A copper peptide is a short peptide that coordinates a copper(II) ion. The best-known example, GHK-Cu, is the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to copper. The metal coordination changes both the chemistry and the color of the complex.

The copper ion is held by the peptide's histidine and backbone nitrogen donors. This coordination stabilizes the complex in solution but also makes the material visibly blue and sensitive to the counter-ion and formulation. Storage and handling follow the same desiccated, low-temperature rules as other peptides.
